Art Framed with Subtle Flare
A favorite client with uncommonly good taste, brought in a richly layered avant pop art silkscreen on deckled edged paper. Because the client enjoys a bit of flare now and then, framing materials were selected to subtly embellish the design and color found in the art work.

Chosen was a black lacquered moulding stenciled with a design found in the art work’s background, and with glazed gold foil reflecting the art work’s green tones. The piece was floated on black matboard which highlighted its deckled edges, and hinged with wheat paste to rag board placed behind the art and attached to the black mat. The final choices were a neutral colored single mat, built up from behind to keep the artwork from touching the conservation glass. The client was very pleased and has continued to frequent the shop. We appreciate his business.
