WHAT WE FRAME
We frame original paintings on canvas*, paper, fabrics, etc.; original prints (etchings, engravings, silk screens, and monotypes); limited and open editions (posters, reproductions); gicleés; photographs (vintage/contemporary); diplomas, certificates, licenses as well as documents, currency, newspapers**; mirrors and much more.

We create shadow boxes to display and protect objects d’ art, collectibles and memorabilia (sports, coins, toys, albums/records, musical instruments); heirlooms such as grandmother’s reading glasses and handkerchief as well as future heirlooms from childhood items to christening and wedding gowns.

WHAT WE OFFER
MOULDING: Duplantier offers an extensive collection of quality mouldings — from fine reproduction frames in 16K to 22K gold-leaf to contemporary wood and steel designs by some of America’s finest craftsmen — to the basic black frame — and everything in between.

MATTING & HINGING: Duplantier only works with archival mat board, and offers MUSEUM MOUNTING by hinging paper-borne art to 100% rag board with Japanese paper and wheat paste for its protection. For the appropriate photograph we offer non-buffered mats and hinge with acrylic corners. Duplantier also specializes in hand-painted mats such as English and FRENCH MATTING, or we can create a contemporary design for that special piece.

GLAZING: Duplantier offers premium, conservation and museum glass as well as acrylic glazing. Conservation is the glass of choice for the everyday buyer because it offers a minimum of 97% protection from harmful UV light rays at an affordable price.

FINISHING TOUCHES: Duplantier uses an acid-free, lignin-free, buffered paper as its dust-cover backing. It has a distinctive blue-grey color denoting archival quality. The wiring is specially coated, stainless-steel, and will not crack or fray over time.

OTHER SERVICES: The shop is fully equipped to dry mount, laminate, and even transfer your photos to canvas (canvas transfers). Also, but not limited to, we offer glass replacement, canvas stretching, needlework blocking & stretching; and INSTALLATION at your home or office.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

*ARCHIVAL TIPS: When framing a canvas, have a wooden frame’s inner area lined with an aluminum barrier archival sealing tape to protect the art work from acidic lignin migration. **ENCAPSULATE brittle documents, newspapers and currency as specified by the Library of Congress by mounting them between Mylar sheets, for protection against the environment and for support when handling.
