Grace Patricia Kelly (November 12, 1929 – September 14, 1982) was an American actress who became Princess of Monaco after marrying Prince Rainier III, in April 1956. It was rumored that Grace Kelly was Alfred Hitchcock‘s favorite leading lady. After her marriage, the Princess retired from movies leaving Hitchcock to seek similar actresses; however, none proved to be as elegant as she.
